MARGARET LISS:
A few years ago I scanned all of Dave Sim's notebooks. He had filled 36 notebooks during the years he created the monthly Cerebus series, covering issues #20 to 300, plus the other side items -- like the Epic stories, posters and prints, convention speeches etc. A total of 3,281 notebook pages detailing his creative process. I never really got the time to study the notebooks when I had them. Just did a quick look, scanned them in and sent them back to Dave as soon as possible. So this regular column is a chance for me to look through those scans and highlight some of the more interesting pages.

So it is the end of 2020. Thank fraking Terim. Tarim. Whatever. Time for rounding up all of the past notebook entries for AMoC, there have 315 notebook entries over the many years. Some notebooks only have had one entry - because that was the entire notebook - to Notebook #9 which has had 18 entries. So if you're looking for something to read over the weekend, here you go:

For those of you who made it to the bottom of this super long post, how about the few pictures I took of some of Dave's notebooks when I had them for scanning?

The purple notebook is #24, white notebook is #23, and the tan notebook is #25

Notebook #29, pages 6 and 7

Yes, check out the entries for notebook #29, basically the first batch of pages in that notebook are pretty much completed pages without Gerhard's backgrounds. That stopped me in my tracks when I got to scanning it. I just had to take a picture of it. I couldn't believe what I was seeing.
